SO MUCH CLOSE BY

Lower Basildon is home to Basildon Park, a stunning Grade I Palladian style country house now owned by the National Trust and open to the public. The house was built between 1776 and 1783 for Sir Francis Sykes and designed by John Carr.  Basildon Park has featured in numerous films including Pride & Prejudice, Marie-Antoinette, Dorian Gray and, more recently, The Crown.

There's also Beale Wildlife Park, 350 acres of nature trails, ponds & lakes with 160 wildlife species from all over the world, plus  beautiful gardens, train rides, the Pavillion cafe, the Peacock restaurant and adventure play too.

The village is also home to many historic buildings, including the historic St Bartholomew's Church, which dates back to the 12th century.

Nearby Pangbourne is a larger village situated on the banks of the River Thames and known for its stunning scenic beauty. The village was the setting for Kenneth Grahame's classic novel, "The Wind in the Willows". Grahame lived in Pangbourne for some time, and the village's landscape served as the inspiration for the novel. STUNNING NEW HOMES FROM A LOCAL, FORWARD THINKING DEVELOPER

Almost like no other development, Hillview is exceptional - not only for the quality of the new homes being created, but for the home location of the developer - next door. Nigel Steljes and his family are creating Hillview in grounds that abut their own home farm which they moved to in 2006. The family vision is to create outstanding new homes that not only look stunning today, but in decades to come and that weather the test of time, complementing this charming location and the surrounding countryside.

Hillfields Farm encompasses 280 acres of beautiful Thames Valley made up of mature woodland and pastureland. The farm is an equestrian facility for mostly private competition horses and a small breeding programme. Also on site is an award winning wedding venue. The venue apart from the occasional charity event; which support local charities, is strictly weddings only and only on Saturdays and Tuesdays. The latter being less often. Music is contained inside after 8pm and the barns are very well sound proofed. A music curfew of midnight at the very latest and professional night-staff are present at every event to ensure peace is kept.

The family and their extended family all live directly adjacent to the wedding venue so everything possible is done to ensure it’s a pleasant place to live.

There are plans once development is completed to create a one way system so all traffic will leave after events from a separate entrance.
